Thank you for buying my first book. Most people want to know why you would write a book. I was at a National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA) conference years ago and attended a seminar with Steven Hayes, the foremost authority on the ninja. He said, “we learn by sharing stories.” That made a lot of sense to me, we learn about each other through sharing stories of our lives. Then a few years ago while working with a marketing friend, he said something similar, “everyone has a story to tell.” “Everyone has a story to tell”, that started to resonate with me. A Chicken Soup kind of thing. I started thinking about who and what influenced me. Instructors, friends, students or martial arts associations ? These influences have shaped my training and my life. I would like to share these stories with you. Take time to look at your training and influences to better understand where you are now and where you would like to go in the future. Somewhere along the way you may be inspired to share your stories.
